Taste results
Due to reader request, here's some info regarding the pie. It was pretty good. The crust really didn't do the filling justice. Definately make a scratch crust. The filling was good; not to gooey, not too dry. The flavor was sweet, but with a hint of something a bit different from the frozen "bake your own" apple pies. The kids liked it very much.

Try keeping your pre-made pie crusts in the refrigerator instead of freezing them. Those are the exact kind I use and I've never had a problem with them at all.
glad the pie filling was good.I shoulda marked the jars so I woulda known which apples you got. 2 jars were gala apples. the rest were from a tree in dad's back yard. Oh well.
