CAtch up!

ok, so I am slack again. How does everyone find time to post their blogs? I find that I read through my favorites and do my computer work, my non-computer work requires most of my attention. When I get to the computer, I struggle to remember to blog. I guess I'll keep working on that.

I have to take my middle child to a dentist in the morning, about 2.5 hours drive away. I forgot to pick up the xrays from our 'regular' dentist, and I have to leave town before they open in the morning. I guess I am going to have to pay to have another set made. Lovely.

What is lovely? My friends have come to visit! They come down usually once a year or so, and we get to chill out, and I even took a week off to hang out with them.

We celebrated my youngest's 4th birthday today. It was a simple affair. So "no stress", and I could have these kinds of parties more often. Pics to come later.

mid-week update

VBS is a blast! It it so fun to watch all the kids learn and grow! Our class has had 22 to 23 kids in it each day. ALl the classes have bunches of kids in them...it is great! My lunch packing has had to be revised~I'm packing 70 each day for the preschool department. So far, so good.

Full days

I somehow thought summer would bring a slowdown in my schedule. I guess the surprise is on me. There has been one day where we really have relaxed and not had something scheduled. The latest thing was decorating for VBS. This year has been awesomely less stressful for my needs. I am an assistant in the Kindergarten class this year. I basically get to show up and help wrangle some kids for a few hours. That, and bring 50-60 sack lunches each day for the preschool department. This has seemed easy-breezy so far. Hopefully it stays that way, and everything goes well.

A story for you...

I went out alone the other night. That's it! That's the story! It is so unusual for me to be alone, that it is a fairy tale to get out alone! Funny, right? Yeah, until I see this:

I was geocaching...and I did not find the prize, because I was not going anywhere near this! At first I did not have on my glasses, and I thought it was a stick. That is NOT a stick! Fortunately, I did not get any closer on foot. I actually took this picture from my vehicle. As soon as I took it, this creature retreated into a nearby bush. I gave up on that cache...maybe I'll try for it again, oh in December?

Oh, and Happy Father's day!

We had a mellow Father's Day around here. I got to see my Dad for a minute yesterday. Around here, we just humored our Dad and gave into his every whim (NOT). We did have donuts for breakfast...his choice. He got to go to Home Depot and buy a nifty yard tool hea had been wanting. Otherwise, we are/were very low key.

Speaking of Nostrils...

Today, I walked into my dear son's room. He was sobbing, with his knees pulled up to his chest. He asked me something, but I couldn't decipher the mumbles. I got down closer to him, and he begged me to get something out of his nose. I was pretty shocked (why should I have been?). He claims he fell face first on the floor, and a peg from his battleship game just happened to get lodged up his nose. I am not quite sure I believe this logic, but stranger things have happened. So, we had to fish the toy out with tweezers. It was lovely. Really. We are very fortunate he didn't try to get it out on his own and cause a trip to the ER. That would have been fun!

A HA!

She sees me! At least there were not any strangely shaped things protruding from the nostrils :)

Totally random

Why is it that when others need help with things, that I am ready to drop what I am doing and jump right in to help. (Not a totally bad thing!) When I have a home project, I have ended up dragging my feet and wasting time! Not a good thing. It would be so much easier to just quit procrastinating and get it done!

Seriously good

See the concentration? It was so very necessary, as she was eating a sugar cookie with sprinkles. And she had to pick each sprinkle off individually, then eat them one at a time.

We had a picnic with friends before an acrobatics show at the pavilion.
